Programme

  • AquaFit: Spiegelfeld indoor swimming pool, every Wednesday morning, 6:30 – 7:30 a.m.
    An admission charge of CHF 3.00 per person will be made for use of the swimming pool. Thank you for your understanding.
  • Nordic walking: Rasenplatz Drissel, every Friday morning, 9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
  • BackFit: Turnhalle Meiriacker, every Wednesday evening, 20:10 - 21:05 p.m.
  • Tai-Chi: In the Schlosspark Binningen, each Sunday morning, 10:00 – 11:15 a.m.
    From 2 April to 29 October 2017 (also during the school holidays)

Please note: During the school holidays there will be no aquaFit, Nordic walking or back sessions.

Participation in these offers is free of charge.


Spiegelfeld sports complex

This consists of a sports hall and indoor swimming pool and the sports field with many ancillary facilities.

Sports hall and indoor swimming pool

The indoor swimming pool has four lanes, a beginners’ pool and a water slide. Above the swimming pool is a three-section sports hall for a wide variety of indoor sports.

The sports field comprises two football pitches and various ancillary facilities such as beach volleyball court, boules court, Finnenbahn natural running track, running track, hard court, clay court, etc.

Garden swimming pool at Schloss Bottmingen

This public garden swimming pool belongs to the communes of Binningen, Bottmingen and Oberwil and is open from May to September.

Luft- und Sonnenbad St. Margarethen (open-air swimming pool)

Open from 15 April to 15 October. With summer café open also to passing guests. This swimming pool is especially suitable for families with small children. It also has separate sections for men and women.

Vita-Parcours, start: at the entrance to Allschwil Forest, car parking at the shooting range.

Cycling and inline skating

Numerous marked routes lead through Binningen. Binningen is the ideal starting point for many tours in nearby Alsace. The BLT tram to Rodersdorf and back also carries bicycles. 

Artificial ice rink

The St. Margarethen artificial ice rink is open from the autumn holidays until spring. It is located within the boundaries of Binningen, but operated by the City of Basel.

Strolling and hiking

The Bruderholz is a popular local excursion destination. It makes a perfect spot for a stroll with a view over Basel and the Rhine Valley. Devotees of pastoral life and the natural world will find a haven of rural tranquillity in the Herzogenmatt Nature Reserve. Here you may well catch sight of a grass frog or butterfly as you take a walk.

A beach volleyball court and a boules court are located next to the main entrance to the indoor swimming pool.

Children’s sports school

The private children’s sports school offers various sports and activity programmes for children aged 4 and above, including in Binningen.
